Potsdam is to Berlin what Versailles is to Paris. The best known summer residence of the Hohenzollern kings is Sanssouci, the Rococo palace of Frederick the Great. But in Potsdam alone, the "Foundation for Prussian Palaces and Gardens in Berlin and Brandenburg" invites visitors to another 20 palaces and sights, including the steam-engine house, which is built in the form of a mosque. Many a good reason for a day-trip to Potsdam. photo: 2002 email: Hannelore Fobo <halo.fobo@t-online.de> |
