| In addition to spectacular sights many lesser known treasures await the public. Take, for instance, the Chapel of Reconciliation from 1999/2000, located on the former "death strip" at Bernauer Strasse. Built entirely of clay, it was erected on the foundations of the Church of Reconcilition, which had been blown up by the GDR authorities in 1985 in order to carry out "national security measures". photo: 2002
