see-berlin programs can be combined in many ways - according to your needs and preferences. If you come to Berlin for the first time, you might want to get a general idea of the city. If you have been here before, you are probably interested in the changes or in specific aspects of Berlin's recent history.

The German capital is multifarious - on both sides of Brandenburg Gate. Don't miss the best!

If you also want to know how Germans live, what we like and how we relate to our many neighbours, and want to rely on a friendly and humorous guide with excellent knowledge of history, culture and foreign languages, I will be happy to help you discover Berlin in a personal way.

••••• General tours of Berlin •••••

bus or car - three hours

• From Kurfürstendamm to Alexanderplatz

• City center and interesting boroughs

Distances in Berlin are rather large, and we therefore highly recommend to start your visit with a three-hour sightseeing-tour either by bus or by car. This will give you a general impression of the central areas between Kurfürstendamm in the West and Alexanderplatz in the East. It also allows for a couple of stops at the most important monuments, such as Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag and the Berlin Wall at East-Side Gallery.

A typical tour could be like this: Kurfürstendamm. Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche, Schloß Charlottenburg, Siegessäule, Schloß Bellevue, Bundeskanzleramt, Reichstag, Brandenburger Tor, Unter den Linden, Museumsinsel, Berliner Dom, Alexanderplatz, Karl-Marx-Allee, East-Side-Gallery, Berliner Rathaus, Nikolaiviertel, Gendarmenmarkt, Friedrichstrasse, Checkpoint Charlie, Potsdamer Platz, Kurfürstendamm.

Of course the city tour does not have to last for 180 minutes exactly. It can be longer, and it can be shorter, if there is a time limit. By the way, the shortest sightseeing trip in my life as a professional guide took us only twenty minutes. The delegation came out rather late from an official meeting, and we had to hurry up.

Sights that are a little off the center can also be included with a bus tour of four hours , for instance the Olympic Stadium or the peninsula Stralau where young Karl Marx spend a whole summer recovering from an illness.

Many places are better for walking tours, especially where spaces are small, and some areas simply cannot be seen while driving by, such as courtyards or the interior of buildings. Slow down, take your time and learn something about what moves the people of Berlin.

As a rule, walking tours groups should not be larger than 25 persons. Walking tours last between one and three hours but can be shorted to be included in a bus tour.

Berlin is said to have more than 160 larger and smaller museums - it's just impossible to know them all! But I can show you some of the most important museum collections. A guided tour of a museum takes between 30 and 90 minutes and includes an introduction to the history of the museum as well as the presentation of the most important exhibits.
